About GOFAR
GOFAR : Global Organization For Agricultural Robotics
Since 2016, FIRA has managed to establish itself as the leading event for professionals in the agricultural robotics sector. Launched and organized since then by Naïo Technologies, FIRA is now carried out by the association GOFAR – Global Organization for Agricultural Robotics.
An independent organization had to emerge to make the voice of the sector ring out and develop a promotional component that is lacking in the existing structures. This was the preamble to the creation of GOFAR in 2019 by Axema and Naïo Technologies, with the participation of RobAgri to the Executive Board as a member and the entrance of Capagro as treasorier in 2020.
MISSIONS
Since 2019, the French-based non-profit association GOFAR - Global Organization for Agricultural Robotics - promotes and supports the agricultural robotics industry.
GOFAR addresses the three paramount challenges facing today's agricultural sector:
- pressing environmental imperatives,
- widespread labour shortages,
- critical need to intensify production sustainably across diverse farming landscapes.
Our mission: To foster the development of optimal agricultural robotics tailored to farmers' real-world challenges.
GOFAR's Three Key Action Areas
Promotion
- FIRA events: since 2016 in Europe (France), and 2022 in the USA (Calif.) hosting field demonstrations where farmers can see robots in action for tasks like mechanical weeding, precision spraying, or automated harvesting.
- Collabs with Industry Events and Exhibitions: Organizing pavilions at major agricultural shows like EIMA (Italy), where robotic solutions are demonstrated to farmers.
- Digital Campaigns: Creating educational content including video series, webinars, and social media campaigns highlighting success stories of farms that have implemented robotic solutions.
- Awards and Recognition Programs: Establishing innovation awards to recognize breakthrough technologies in agricultural robotics, increasing visibility for promising startups.
Networking
- Matchmaking Services: Organizing targeted meetings between robotics developers and farmers with specific needs
- Investor Networks: Creating platforms where agtech startups can pitch to agricultural investment funds and venture capitalists interested in farming automation.
- Cross-sector Partnerships: Facilitating collaborations between traditional agricultural equipment manufacturers and robotics startups (The Robotics Factory in PA, USA)
Expertise
- Study and Market Tours: visit of farmers using ag robotics
- Technical Consulting: Offering expert evaluation of robotic solutions for specific agricultural contexts,
- Regulatory Guidance: Providing assistance with navigating complex regulations for autonomous machines operating in agricultural settings,
- Economic Analysis and Case Studies: Developing detailed ROI models for robotic implementation
