Technical specifications
Type of solution : Automated transplanters and seeders
Robot’s primary need : Automatic transplanter
Power source : Fuel, we need a tractor pulling the machine
Horse power : Depending on the size of the machine: 60 to 170 HP
Size : 2 row (=2 robots) machine: 652 x 250 x 240
Net weight : 2 row machine: 2440 Kg
Productivity : 6 to 8 hectare/day
Functionalities and technologies
Functionality : The robot/ extractor unit can extract plants from a tray automatically and it puts the plants down on a conveyor. This conveyor is equiped with a selector. The empty plugs fall out and only plugs with plants go down to the planting element who sets the plants into the soil.
Embedded technologies : "Low pressure hydraulic, if a tray is not possitioned well it will just stop to prefent trays breaking or bending things. No camera systems mounted yet, this will come in the future."
Tools : "The robot is adjustable to different trays. At the moment we have more than 100 different trays going through the robot. Hard plastic, Sytrofoam trays,... We can transplant a lot of different crops with the same robot."
Connections : The machine is pulled by the tractor and is self-sufficient. We only need a PTO from the tractor, the machine is equiped with batteries and an alternator for it's own electricity. We can offer data connectivity on the machine. GPS can be mounted on the machine if it has a steerable back axle.
Development phase
Next development phase : Camera to count the plants into the grond and give each plant a GPS position. So weeding can be done through GPS.
